Playing: National Competition Framework - 11 and over
Competition Framework - 11 and over
At this stage, you will be perfecting your game more so than learning basic techniques from scratch; you will almost cetrainly take part in the internal club tournaments (if you wish) and optionally take part in other inter-club competitions like the North Warwickshire Doubles for children up to 18 and the Road to Wimledon competition (for children up to 14). As you progress through teenage years, you may also be invited to play for one of the Hampton league teams and take part in individual singles or doubles competitions such as are advertised in national magazines e.g. On The Ball.
Where do I fit in to this framework?
Our coaching staff currently provide coaching sessions for each age group in the National Competition Framework, staring with Mini-Tennis (Red). The current coaching schedule is published on this site here.
Don't forget that the club has been involved in a number of external competitions on a regular basis over the years and some of these may be of benefit in this category, transitioning from Mini-Tennis via teenage years to adult player. For example, the North Warwickshire Doubles League is great fun, competitive, gets you noticed in the national arena and provides a good foundation for any league play you may wish to consider for the Hampton league teams (the Coventry League is exclusively doubles match play - no singles match play involved).
